Huda Kattan Reclaims Full Ownership Of Huda Beauty

UAE-based global beauty brand Huda Beauty has returned to being an independent label following the conclusion of its eight-year partnership with the California-based private equity company, TSG Consumer Partners.

TSG Consumer Partners had acquired a minority stake in the company in 2017. Huda Kattan, founder of Huda Beauty, has now repurchased her equity in the business and thereby regained full control of the brand, with her and her husband, Christopher Goncalo, set to lead the brand as co-CEOs.

“Taking back full ownership of Huda Beauty is a deeply, very important moment for me," said Kattan, in a statement. "It says that while many of us dreamers have visions that we are told are too big or not possible to do alone, in actuality, you have all the power you need to change the world yourself! Kattan first launched Huda Beauty in the UAE in 2013. Since then, the company has evolved from being one of the first influencer-led ventures into a globally recognized beauty brand, known for its high-performing products and commitment to authenticity.  

Now, as a fully independent company, Huda Beauty is one of the few fully founder-owned brands in the beauty space. This moment has been billed as "a powerful new chapter for the brand, reinforcing its dedication to innovation, authenticity, and a deeply engaged community, while reaffirming its commitment to a founder-led vision."
