As the Country Director for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the at British multinational Serco, Mona Althaghafi leads the organization’s operations and strategic partnerships across the Kingdom.

Under her leadership, Serco has significantly expanded its presence in Saudi Arabia, deepening relationships with government entities like the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, the Royal Commission for AlUla, and the Expenditure and Project Efficiency Authority (EXPRO).

Through her work at Serco, Althaghafi has championed initiatives that embed customer experience and excellence into public services, playing a key role in the company’s citizen services business as well as its Saudization process.

As a female leader in a country where women are stepping into the spotlight as never before, Althaghafi is a strong believer that women today are transforming how business is conducted across the Kingdom.

“The rise of women in leadership across Saudi Arabia is not just symbolic; it’s reshaping how services are delivered, how talent is developed, and how organizations measure success,” she says. “Women leaders bring fresh perspectives, challenge legacy systems, and lead with empathy and inclusion. Their presence is opening doors for others and setting new expectations within the business ecosystem. At Serco, we’ve seen how elevating women into operational and leadership roles strengthens teams, improves decision-making, and creates a culture of innovation. The more visible and empowered women become in leadership, the more they inspire others.”
