Having debuted with the McLaren Formula 1 Team and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) in the UAE, Access Pass will enable FAB cardholders to unlock unique perks and card art–all with their existing Mastercard.

Global payments and technology company Mastercard has come out with a new platform that will, as Chief Consumer Product Officer Bunita Sawhney put it, “connect consumers with their passions.”

Mastercard Access Pass, billed as “a new program that empowers issuers and partners to deliver tailored experiences and exclusive perks to deepen consumer connections,” was launched on the sidelines of this year’s Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in the UAE, with the platform making its debut in collaboration with the McLaren Formula 1 Team and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB).

In an interview with Inc. Arabia, Sawhney noted how the Mastercard Access Pass, which allows digital designs and special benefits to be overlaid onto existing debit, credit, or prepaid cards, will allow users, while still keeping their current cards and benefits, gain a whole new layer of perks—things that “money can’t buy,” as she proudly put it. “We're making sure that we're connecting consumers with their passions, and that joy, that spark of joy that is going to unleash, just wait—it’s going to be on fire,” Sawhney declared.
