Tunisia's My Easy Transfer Raises $423k from 216 Capital
My Easy Transfer makes it easier for Tunisians living abroad to send remittances home.
Tunisian fintech My Easy Transfer has raised EUR 400,000 ($423,000) from Tunis-based VC 216 Capital Ventures, the VC announced in a press release (French).
My Easy Transfer, which was founded in 2022, facilitates the easy transfer of remittances – which are expected to reach TND 10 bn ($3.2 bn) by the end of this year – from the almost two mn Tunisians living abroad to their families at home. Since it was established in March of last year, My Easy Transfer has built its customer base to 10,000.
My Easy Transfer was co-founded by Ismail and Jabrane Khenissi, two brothers who began their careers working in the UK, France and Africa.
The funding will go towards improving the platform and expanding its presence in Tunisia, as well as launching in other African markets, like Morocco, Mali and Senegal. My Easy Transfer will also add features to allow users to send mobile top-ups and make bill payments, in addition to money transfers.
216 Capital is a Tunis-based VC firm founded last year that focuses on early-stage tech companies. This is the second investment that the VC has made to-date, following an investment in Tunisia-based insurtech startup Avidea last year.
