Egypt’s WayUp Sports Wraps Up Undisclosed Seed Round

WayUp Sports was founded in 2021 by Omar, Mohamed and Basma Afifi.

Egypt-based marketplace for sports equipment and apparel, WayUp Sports, announced that it has closed a seed round led by Beltone Venture Capital and Index Sports Fund and other strategic angel investors, the startup said in a press release.[1]

WayUp Sports is Egypt's first e-commerce platform dedicated to performance-based sports equipment. It was founded in 2021 by Omar, Mohamed and Basma Afifi.

It offers over 10,000 products for more than 15 sports from 70+ local and global brands. It currently serves more than 100,000 customers.

The startup also raised an undisclosed pre-seed round last year.
