Grintafy Eyes Tapping into South Africa & COSAFA Markets

Saudi Arabia-based e-sports platform Grintafy has revealed ambitions to expand its brand reach by awarding franchise rights in South Africa and COSAFA nations to increase its global presence, according to media reports.[1]
An agreement was reached in this regard on December 12th during the World Football Summit.The application across South Africa and COSAFA countries will function as an all-inclusive instrument for assessing players' metrics, tracking their achievements, watching gameplay videos, and planning competitions and performance trials within South Africa.
Majdi Al-Lulu founded Grintafy in 2018 to give amateur football players a platform to create their football resumes, participate in or arrange thousands of games and tryouts, get ranked according to their performance, and view and track their skills.
In 2021, Grintafy secured a $2.1 million bridge round with participation from Wa’ed Ventures, the entrepreneurship arm of Saudi Aramco, Alrashed Group (ARG Limited), AREEN Investments, and several strategic angel investors.
The 14 member countries of COSAFA are Angola, Botswana, Comores, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Associate Member Reunion
