KSA’s E-sports World Cup Hits 177.5 Million Viewing Hours

The E-Sports World Cup Foundation has reported an impressive 177.5 million viewing hours during the first four weeks of the tournament in Riyadh, along with $16.5 million in prizes distributed.[1]

Held at Boulevard Riyadh City from July 3rd to August 25th, the event attracted over 1 million visitors, including football stars Neymar Jr. and Jota. With total prizes amounting to $60 million, the tournament set record viewing levels across several championships.
The competitions saw active participation and significant interaction on social media, recording over 1 billion impressions and 270 million video views.
Recently, Saudi Arabia submitted a bid to host the largest-ever edition of the FIFA World Cup held in a single country, unveiling details during a ceremony in Paris, France. The official bid slogan, "Growing. Together.," has received the backing of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
It aligns with Vision 2030's sports goals to advance Saudi Arabia's sports infrastructure. Hosting major global events will enhance investment and the local economy through its sporting and commercial amenities. This comes after Saudi Arabia announced plans to host the first Olympic Esports Games in 2025 through an agreement with the International Olympic Committee.
