Oliver Wyman’s Adel Alfalasi On Digital Transformation
“In my view, the push or the drive for digital transformation should come from business needs, not from technical needs.”
“When it comes to digitization or digital transformation, it's no longer a luxury. It becomes a need for survival, for being relevant, and a need to provide better customer citizen services.”
In an interview with Inc. Arabia at GITEX GLOBAL 2024, Adel Alfalasi, partner and head of the UAE at Oliver Wyman, a leading international management consulting firm, shared his viewpoint on why digital transformation is something that must be pursued by both the private and public sector.
However, Alfalasi also pointed out that this is not a journey that should be taken just for the sake of it. “In my view, the push or the drive for digital transformation should come from business needs, not from technical needs,” Alfalasi said.
Alfalasi also emphasized the role of leadership in driving change. “The most important element of any digital transformation is that you don't look at it as just digital transfer,” he noted. “There's still an organization transformation.”
