Tiye Angels Makes First Investment in InCurA
With this cash, InCurA will expedite its expansion plans and new products.
Egypt’s first female angel investment network, Tiye Angels, has announced its first investment in InCurA, a company specializing in medical device solutions with patent protection.[1]
AUC angels, KAUST Innovation Ventures, UI Investments, and Pharos Holding also participated in InCurA's undisclosed pre-seed funding round.
Founded in 2021 by Wessam Sarhan and Moussa Salem, InCurA focuses on biomedical health technology for bleeding control products.
With this cash, InCurA will expedite its expansion plans. It also plans to create new products and complete clinical trials for goods that are currently being created.
The company's flagship products include hemostatic agents designed to stem bleeding during surgical and dental procedures. ColiSorB, a hemostatic sponge, and CurASeal, a hemostatic powder, exhibit accelerated clotting and reduced blood loss.
By 2027, InCurA hopes to introduce eight products in the hemostatic agent and wound dressing markets.[2]
The startup was registered in Delaware in 2022, followed by Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2023.
Tiye Angels, which launched in December 2019 and receives support from USAID's Business Egypt Program, enables investors—the majority of whom are women—to fund female entrepreneurs.
