ADFD Invests $59 Billion in Global Sustainability in 2023
The fund allocated AED12.6 billion ($3.43 billion) across seven key investment tools and 16 companies in various sectors, spanning 26 countries.
Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has backed global sustainability with AED216 billion ($58.82 billion) in financing and investments in 2023.[1]
The latest annual report from ADFD highlights the impact of its endeavors, with total development financing reaching AED120.5 billion ($32.81 billion) by December 2023. This includes AED66 billion ($17.97 billion) in concessionary loans and AED54.5 billion ($14.84 billion) in government grants, benefiting 106 countries across different continents.
Furthermore, ADFD's initiatives have facilitated the global expansion of Emirati companies through the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX), with approximately AED3.2 billion ($871.4 million) allocated between 2020 and 2023 to support national exports.
Founded in 2019, ADEX's goal is to elevate UAE exports, broaden revenue streams, and fortify economic competitiveness.
On the investment front, the fund allocated AED12.6 billion ($3.43 billion) across seven key investment tools and 16 companies in various sectors, spanning 26 countries. Additionally, ADFD deposited AED78 billion ($21.24 billion) with Central Banks in developing nations and allocated AED5.3 billion ($1.44 billion) in financing to bolster investment activities in beneficiary countries.
