Businesswomen Represent 18% of UAE Entrepreneurs

Businesswomen in the UAE are contributing significantly to the national economy and community through their ventures. According to a report from the Emirates Businesswomen Council, women now make up 18% of all entrepreneurs in the UAE.[1]
The report indicates that the proportion of women in the workforce increased to 34.6% in 2024, up from 32.5% in 2023. Among businesswomen, 77.6% are under the age of 40, and nearly half hold executive-director positions. Additionally, 61.4% own their businesses individually.
In the first half (H1) of this year, Emirati businesswomen registered over 2,000 new businesses, accounting for about 22% of all new businesses in the UAE. Innovations by UAE businesswomen include a digital platform offering consulting and financing services using artificial intelligence and a smart application for managing small and medium-sized enterprises.
The report also notes projects in solar energy, an AED 200 million ($54.45 million) startup in remote healthcare using virtual reality, and an e-commerce platform connecting local artisans with global markets, which achieved over AED 150 million ($40.84 million) in its first year.
