King Salman to Undergo Medical Tests Amid Health Concerns

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman made reassuring comments about King Salman's health during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday after the royal court said on Sunday the monarch will undergo treatment for lung inflammation, state TV reported.
Saudi Arabia's King Salman, 88, is set to undergo his second round of medical tests within a month, according to reports from state media on Sunday.[1]

The monarch, who has been on the throne since 2015, is reportedly experiencing a "high temperature" and joint pain.
Tests will be conducted at a clinic within the Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah to diagnose the King's health condition and ensure his well-being.
This recent health concern follows a string of medical issues for King Salman. In April, he was admitted to King Faisal Specialist Hospital for what was described as "routine examinations," and he left the hospital on the same day.
Prior to that, his last hospitalization was in May 2022, when he underwent a colonoscopy and stayed for over a week for additional tests and rest.
The King's medical history includes surgery to remove his gall bladder in 2020 and hospitalization in March 2022 for medical tests.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz ascended to the throne as the seventh King of Saudi Arabia on January 23, 2015, following the passing of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. He holds the esteemed title of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Additionally, King Salman serves as the Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers.
King Salman is also Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers.
Prior to his reign, King Salman was named Crown Prince and appointed Deputy Prime Minister by King Abdullah on June 18, 2012, succeeding Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz upon his passing.
Born in Riyadh on December 31, 1935, King Salman received his education at the Prince’s School in Riyadh. His public service began with roles as Deputy Governor and subsequently Governor of Riyadh. He later assumed the position of Minister of Defense on November 5, 2011.
King Salman's dedication to humanitarian causes is evident through his chairmanship of numerous relief committees since 1956. His efforts have been recognized globally, earning him prestigious awards from various nations, including Bahrain, France, and the United Nations, among others. Additionally, he has received several honorary degrees and academic accolades, highlighting his contributions to science and education.
