Golden Gate Ventures Opens Regional MENA Office

Golden Gate Ventures, a Singapore-based venture capital firm, has established its first MENA office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.[1]
Hussain Abdullah, a senior advisor with deep global investment expertise and a strong network and insights in the MENA region based in Qatar, and Abdulrahman Al-Qahtani, a general partner with strong investment experience in Saudi Arabia, will lead the company's first MENA office.
To establish strategic synergies for the Singapore-MENA entrepreneurial corridor, Michael Lints, a partner at Golden Gate Ventures, will spearhead the efforts in the MENA region, spending time in both Singapore and the GCC.
The governments of Singapore and Saudi Arabia strengthened their strategic partnership in October 2023 in the fields of commerce and investment, renewable energy, and the digital economy.[2]
2021 saw a strengthening of the bilateral commercial ties between Singapore and the UAE in the areas of technology, 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), and space developments.[3]
In addition, Qatar sent a group of entrepreneurs and government representatives to Singapore's 2023 SWITCH Conference to engage with VC firms and founders there.
Golden Gate Ventures has aided in the development of entrepreneurship by constructing access to social, human, and financial capital as part of its endeavors to establish its MENA foundation. The company is coaching more than fifty MENA founders from the Endeavor program. Additionally, the company is inviting visitors from abroad to Startup Grind in Oman. A historic bilateral desert camp involving Singapore unicorns and GCC institutions is also being hosted by the company.
