Group-IB’s Dmitry Volkov On Cybersecurity And Digital Growth
“If you don’t invest in cybersecurity, you don’t have a digital economy,” said Dmitry Volkov, founder and CEO of Group-IB, in a conversation with Inc. Arabia.
“If you don’t invest in cybersecurity, you don’t have a digital economy,” said Dmitry Volkov, founder and CEO of Group-IB, a global cybersecurity firm with a strong footprint in the Middle East, in an exclusive conversation with Inc. Arabia.
Speaking to us at this year's edition of GISEC Global in Dubai (the Middle East and Africa's largest cybersecurity event), Volkov’s words underscored the urgency of today’s evolving cyber threats—ones that he and his team at Group-IB are racing to outpace through innovation in fraud detection and investigation.
“I see a dramatic change in culture,” Volkov said. “People now understand that cybersecurity is not just a cost center. They see that it is critically important now for the successful development of a digital economy.”
With governments around the world thus pushing hard to build resilient digital economies, Volkov says that the time is ripe for the MENA region to invest in homegrown innovation. “My advice is: develop local cybersecurity,” he said. “Develop new technologies in the region; develop local expertise.”
