NCA Introduces New Rules for Cybersecurity Operations
The move will enhance the quality of services provided in the cybersecurity sector in KSA.
The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) has rolled out the National Policy and Regulatory Framework for Managed Security Operations Centers (MSOC).[1]
This move, aimed at protecting the kingdom's vital interests and national security, will also enhance the quality of services provided in the cybersecurity sector.
The Saudi national policy for MSOC seeks to improve cybersecurity awareness at both organizational and national levels, ensuring access to reliable and high-quality MSOC services. Additionally, it aims to foster growth in the cybersecurity sector and optimize cybersecurity spending.
The regulatory framework for licensing MSOC services outlines requirements for delivering these services to government and private sector organizations, especially those managing critical national infrastructure. This is expected to bolster cybersecurity, spur market development, and promote innovation and investment in the sector.
As part of its mandate to establish policies, governance frameworks, and standards for cybersecurity at the national level, NCA has released these documents following public consultation.
Starting this month, MSOC service providers can apply for licenses through 'Haseen', the national cybersecurity services portal.
