Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) is set to participate in Milan Design Week, taking place from April 16 to 21 in Milan, Italy. Collaborating with several partners, Ithra will unveil two new works, focusing on sustainability and ingenuity, originally presented at Ithra's Tanween, the Kingdom's creativity conference, as per an emailed press release to Inc. Arabia.

The exhibition "Routes to Roots," which Ithra created in collaboration with the Italian design platform Isola, serves as the showcase's focal point. Routes to Roots debuted at Tanween in November 2023.

This exhibition will be featured as part of the 8th edition of Isola's Design Festival, known for its diverse array of exhibitions, workshops, and design talks during Milan Design Week, attracting international designers and enthusiasts alike.

Complementing Routes to Roots is Iwan, designed in collaboration with Mamou Mani Studio and ABYAT, "Iwan" reimagines traditional Islamic design elements through a modern lens, blending intricate patterns with innovative construction techniques. A 3D-printed iteration of the original aluminum structure will be on display alongside "Routes to Roots" at the Milan Galleria Giovanni Bonelli.
