Huawei Cloud Introduces GaussDB Database Solution in KSA

Huawei Cloud, the cloud computing division of global ICT firm Huawei, has unveiled GaussDB, its advanced database solution, in Saudi Arabia.[1]

Traditional databases encounter scalability, availability, performance, and security challenges. GaussDB directly addresses these issues, providing an intelligent solution for managing modern business data requirements.
This new offering from Huawei Cloud boasts high availability with city-level remote disaster recovery capabilities and zero RPO, ensuring uninterrupted operation of mission-critical applications. Additionally, GaussDB supports up to 1.5 million tpmC on a single node and 15 million tpmC with a 32-node cluster, while maintaining stringent security measures with full encryption and CC EAL4+ certification.
Furthermore, GaussDB is capable of scaling out to over 1,000 nodes within minutes to accommodate high-concurrency workloads. GaussDB facilitates faster issue diagnosis and resolution, simplifying deployment and migration processes.
GaussDB has already been adopted in over 2,500 Huawei Cloud customer projects worldwide across various sectors, including finance, government, and manufacturing.
Huawei Cloud's Riyadh Region, established in September 2023, is a hub for cloud services in the Middle East and Central Asia.
In May, Huawei Cloud launched its Cairo Region, marking the debut of public cloud services in Egypt and the broader MENA region.
The Cairo Region is Huawei’s 33rd cloud region worldwide, each representing a physical location with Huawei-deployed data centers to deliver cloud services.
