Mila Celebrations Raises $227,000 in Pre-seed Round
Mila will use the new funds to improve its app, broaden its service offerings, and handle a wider variety of events.
Saudi-based event planning platform Mila Celebrations has raised SAR 850,000 ($227,000) in a pre-seed funding round from angel investors. Launched in early 2024 by Muhammad Ghourbal, the platform simplifies and digitizes event planning, offering services for weddings, birthdays, graduations, and other events.
Mila Celebrations has organized over 1,000 events since it launched earlier this year and wants to tap into Saudi Arabia’s thriving event market, which is valued at over SAR 50 billion ($13.33 billion) annually.
Family celebrations play a central role in Saudi culture, with significant spending on events like weddings and birthdays. For example, users spend over SAR 3,000 ($799.75) on birthdays through Mila’s platform, while wedding costs often surpass SAR 200,000 ($53,317).
The platform offers a complete event planning solution, covering decor, catering, photography, and entertainment. The company is focused on providing services that align with Saudi Arabia’s high wedding expenditures per capita.
Mila will use the new funds to improve its app, broaden its service offerings, and handle a wider variety of events, including corporate functions. As Saudi Arabia continues its economic diversification efforts under Vision 2030, the events industry is expected to see further growth.
Mila also plans to expand beyond Saudi Arabia into the broader Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market.
