Egyptian edtech startup Farid has secured $250,000 in a pre-Seed funding round from Saudi businesswoman Amal bint Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan. The investment will help the platform expand in Egypt and enter the Saudi and UAE markets.[1]

Founded in 2024 by Mahmoud Hussein, Farid focuses on character education and mental health support for children and youth aged 3 to 18 years. The platform offers one-on-one sessions to help children develop personal and psychological skills, and it also trains youth and graduates to become certified trainers in its educational approach.

The funds will be used to create new training content, hire more staff and trainers, and collaborate with additional schools and universities.

Farid aims to increase its number of subscribers to 20,000 over the next two years and train 10,000 education graduates as certified trainers by 2030. The startup was recently recognized among the top 100 startups at the LEAP2024 conference in Riyadh.
