Nawah Scientific Secures Accreditation from US FDA
Egypt-based startup Nawah was established in 2015 with the goal of becoming a major force behind the region's scientific research.
MENA and Africa's first cloud lab Nawah Scientific has been accredited by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its food analysis and safety procedures, the company said in a statement. [1]
The accreditation will save Egyptian and African businesses the money and effort of sending samples for analysis outside of the continent.
Nawah Scientific is an Egypt-based cloud lab that conducts experiments in natural and medical science, servicing both industry and academia. To date, it has analyzed more than 70,000 samples from nine countries. It has raised $12.3 million to-date. [2]
Nawah has received financial and technical support from Egypt Ventures, a fund created by the Ministry of International Cooperation, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), and the National Investment Bank with the intention of investing directly and indirectly in startups, entrepreneurship, and small businesses.
