On September 25, 2024, at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray in Dubai, Inc. Arabia, in collaboration with Rockwell Automation, Dragos, and Fortinet, staged CyberTour, an event that brought together experts and professionals from across the UAE to discuss how business leaders at the forefront of industrial innovation can navigate the complex landscape of digital transformation while safeguarding their organizations against ever-evolving cyber threats.

The event launched with a virtual address by HE Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, head of cybersecurity for the UAE government, in which he shared his insights on the criticality of securing the nation’s cyberspace.

Next, Gert Thoonen, principal architect, operational technology security, at Rockwell Automation delivered a keynote address on “Enhancing Cybersecurity for a Resilient Critical Infrastructure.” Fortinet’s senior director systems engineering for international emerging regions, Melih Kirkgoz, then took the stage to deliver a presentation titled “Breaking Silos: Transforming Operational Technology Security.”

This was followed by a presentation by Michael Hoffman, technical leader, threat operations center global services, Dragos, which delved into the “Threat Landscape and Incident Response” topic. Thoonen, Kirkgoz, and Hoffman then came together for an engaging panel discussion chaired by Inc. Arabia’s editor in chief, Aby Sam Thomas, which also allowed for insightful interactions with the members of the audience.
