Saudia Group Orders 105 Airbus A320neo
The entire A320 Family is capable of operating with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with ambitions to reach 100% SAF capability across all aircraft by 2030.
Saudia Group, represented by Saudia, the national flag carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and flyadeal, the group’s low-cost carrier, has signed a firm order for an additional 105 A320neo Family aircraft, as per an emailed press release to Inc. Arabia.
The order, announced at the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh, includes 12 A320neo and 93 A321neo aircraft, elevating Saudia Group’s Airbus backlog to 144 A320neo family aircraft.
The A320 Family, known as the world’s most sought-after single-aisle aircraft with over 18,000 orders from 300+ customers worldwide, is complemented by the A321neo, offering wide range and performance. With new generation engines and Sharklets, the A321neo promises a 50% noise reduction, at least 20% fuel savings, and CO2 reduction compared to previous models.
The entire A320 Family is capable of operating with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with ambitions to reach 100% SAF capability across all aircraft by 2030.
Earlier this year, media reports said Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) is currently in discussions regarding the acquisition of state-backed airline Saudia.
