Shahid VIP Set to Beat Netflix as Leading SVOD by 2029

The latest projections from Digital TV Research indicate a major shift in the subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) landscape of the Middle East, with Shahid VIP poised to surpass Netflix as the region's top platform by 2029.[1]
According to Digital TV Research, the Middle East is expected to witness an increase in SVOD subscriptions, reaching an estimated 26 million across 13 Arabic countries by 2029, up from 14 million in 2023.

The MBC Group, which is a Saudi state-owned company, runs Shahid VIP. Originally launched in 2008 by MBC, the platform underwent a rebranding in 2020.
