Dubai Wins Bid to Host ICCV 2029
ICCV is a global gathering for computer vision and artificial intelligence (AI).
Dubai has secured the hosting rights for the International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV) in 2029, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council announced on July 2nd.

ICCV, the global gathering for computer vision and artificial intelligence (AI), is expected to attract over 15,000 industry leaders and experts worldwide. Attendees will converge to explore advancements and chart the future of AI and computer vision technologies.
Recently, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum declared that the AI Retreat will become an annual event in Dubai. The next retreat is scheduled for April 29, 2025.
The AI Retreat 2024, under the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence (DUB.AI), concluded in Dubai on June 11th. The event attracted 2,500 decision-makers, AI experts, and industry leaders, including approximately 50 CEOs from major tech companies such as Microsoft, IBM, Google, Amazon, Oracle, SAP, Nvidia, and Samsung.
Launched on April 29th this year, the DUB.AI aims to enhance Dubai’s well-being by adopting AI across all sectors.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Dubai will host the World Congress of Medical Informatics (MedInfo) in 2027 first for the Middle East and North Africa region. Organized by the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA), MedInfo is known for advancing biomedical and health informatics globally through scientific exchanges and networking opportunities.[1]
The winning bid is championed by the Emirates Health Informatics Society and supported by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, and Emirates Health Services.
