Startups To Watch At Money20/20 Middle East 2025: Axiology
Led by founder and CEO Marius Jurgilas, Axiology develops solutions for the issuance, custody, settlement, and trading of tokenized fixed-income instruments.

Lithuania-based Axiology is building the digital infrastructure to simplify how securities are issued, traded, and settled in the global market. Marius Jurgilas, founder and CEO of Axiology, frames the company’s mission as both a technological breakthrough and a timing opportunity.
“Axiology delivers integrated capital markets infrastructure for the issuance, custody, trading, and settlement of securities using distributed ledger technology (DLT),” he says. “By consolidating these functions, it reduces reliance on intermediaries, lowers costs and streamlines fixed-income issuance, while functioning as a cross-border central securities depository (CSD) to address Europe’s capital market fragmentation. This allows us to open access for SMEs and retail investors—segments that have historically been underserved by traditional capital markets.”
Jurgilas reveals that the Axiology model has only become possible with the introduction of the European Union (EU) DLT Pilot Regime, under which the company is regulated, alongside the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID). “We’ve reached a major milestone by securing our EU license, which allows us to operate a fully integrated trading and settlement system using DLT,” Jurgilas adds. “This exceptionally rare license—one of only two issued in the EU—lets us offer issuance, custody, trading and settlement of digital securities under one roof.”
While this has already opened Axiology’s doors to partnerships, including one with European Merchant Bank, Jurgilas shares that the company has also started looking beyond the continent. “We see the GCC region fully embracing digital assets, and we believe there is a significant opportunity for collaboration,” Jurgilas says. “We are looking for regional partners, and we are open for cross-border collaboration in digital assets infrastructure.”
It’s a mindset that aligns neatly with Axiology’s future plans. “Our ambition is to democratize access to capital markets in the same way that fintechs revolutionized payments,” Jurgilas declares. “By creating a bridge between traditional and digital finance, we aim to lower issuance costs, improve settlement efficiency, and expand retail access to fixed-income products—reshaping how capital markets serve businesses and individuals globally. Or in short, we want to make capital markets easy.”
