Abu Dhabi's Marlan Space, affiliated with International Holding Company (IHC), has partnered with Loft Orbital to establish Orbitworks, the Middle East's first private space infrastructure company. With an initial investment of over $100 million, Orbitworks plans to produce up to 50 low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites annually, each weighing 500 kg.[1]

Construction of a facility for satellite integration and testing is set to begin, with the first satellite platform expected to be ready by early 2025. Orbitworks has secured components for its first ten satellites, with the first launch anticipated in the first quarter (Q1) of 2026.

Orbitworks plans to collaborate with local component manufacturers and AI companies, aiming to streamline technology integration and support missions in telecommunications, earth observation, and scientific research.
