Food delivery platform Jahez and the Kuwait Innovation Center (KIC) have launched Kuwait’s first Food Innovation Hackathon, inviting students, developers, and creatives to develop tech-driven solutions for the food delivery sector.

The program, which opened registration on July 13, unfolds across seven phases, guiding participants from early-stage ideas to working solutions and supporting the goals of Kuwait Vision 2035 by tackling challenges in the country's food tech space.

Commenting on the launch, Abdulrahman Reda, Marketing Team Lead at Jahez, said in a statement, “This hackathon is a celebration of youth, innovation, and the spirit of entrepreneurship in Kuwait. Together with KIC, we are proud to create a platform where aspiring minds can reimagine the future of food delivery, develop bold solutions, and gain the support needed to bring those ideas to life. At Jahez, we believe in empowering young talent through real opportunity. With this initiative, we aim to nurture creativity, drive practical change, and create lasting value for our sector's future.”

The hackathon is open to both individuals and teams, with priority being given to teams. To qualify, participants must be at least 18 years old and must present innovative solutions through their submission that clearly address challenges within the food delivery, logistics, or food and beverage (F&B) technology industry. All projects must be original works and must not infringe on any intellectual property rights. Projects submitted must not be older than three years from the date of the hackathon, and each participant or team may submit only one project.

Selected teams will join a three-day bootcamp from August 6 to 8 at the Kuwait Innovation Center, where they’ll take part in workshops on artificial intelligence (AI), interface design, business modeling, and innovation methods. The bootcamp will also offer a closer look at Jahez Application’s operations to help participants shape market-ready ideas.

The hackathon, which is designed as a practical learning experience built around collaboration, problem-solving, and exposure to real-world business needs, will wrap up with a live pitching and awards event on August 16 at Andalus Hall in Kuwait. Cash prizes of KWD3,000 (US$9,811), KWD2,000 ($6,541), and KWD1,000 ($3,270) will be awarded to the top three teams. Promising ideas may also receive mentorship, incubation support, and potential follow-up opportunities with Jahez.

Interested individuals can register for the hackathon through this link, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
