The UAE-based Technology Innovation Institute (TII), the applied research pillar of Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), unveiled the Falcon Foundation, a non-profit initiative aimed at propelling the development of open-source generative AI models and fostering sustainable ecosystems around such projects to expedite technological progress.[1]

TII pledged a $300 million commitment to fuel these initiatives.

The foundation will leverage TII's Falcon AI models as a springboard to engage stakeholders spanning academia, industry, developers, and individuals, harnessing the collective wisdom to propel AI innovation.

A distinguished lineup of Falcon Foundation Ambassadors, comprising renowned AI scholars from global universities and industry titans, will spearhead efforts to democratize AI, facilitating customized adaptations of Falcon models tailored to various industries and sectors.

The foundation aims to ensure the adaptability and scalability of Falcon AI across diverse applications and contexts.

The foundation's outreach extends to all entities championing responsible open-source AI, thereby reducing reliance on external vendors and providing businesses with technological autonomy.
