Saudi Arabia Launches HUMAIN To Lead Global AI Development
Chaired by Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince HRH Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, HUMAIN is a wholly owned company of the country's Public Investment Fund (PIF).
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince HRH Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud has launched HUMAIN, a wholly owned company of the country's Public Investment Fund (PIF), aiming to position the Kingdom as a global force in artificial intelligence (AI).
Chaired by the Crown Prince, HUMAIN will operate as a unified AI company, investing across the entire value chain and offering a broad range of AI services, products, and tools, including next-generation data centers, AI infrastructure, cloud computing capabilities, and advanced AI models and solutions. The company also plans to offer one of the most powerful multimodal Arabic large language models (LLMs) globally.
HUMAIN is designed to accelerate local, regional, and global AI development and adoption. The company will support innovation across strategic sectors such as energy, healthcare, manufacturing, and financial services, while also enabling capabilities for domestic and international delivery of AI solutions.
PIF and its portfolio companies are already heavily investing in the AI ecosystem and in forging international partnerships. These efforts are reinforced by Saudi Arabia’s strategic geographic location, its growing economy, and a young, tech-savvy population—all factors that facilitate large-scale data processing and support advanced research and innovation.
HUMAIN will play a central role in streamlining data center projects, hardware procurement, and the rollout of AI technologies. It will also drive local innovation, contribute to the creation of intellectual property, and help realize the country’s national AI ambitions.
According to the 2024 Global AI Index, Saudi Arabia ranked first globally in government AI strategy.
