Saudi Arabia Launches Sustainability Champion Program
The program endeavors to bolster local capabilities by equipping companies with the tools and techniques to enhance their sustainability reporting.
The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Economy and Planning unveiled the Sustainability Champion Program on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) special meeting. This initiative aims to propel the sustainability agenda forward in the kingdom by fostering unique collaborations among companies across key sectors.[1]
Aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, the program will address environmental challenges. Distinguished companies, termed "Champions," will play a role in supporting other entities to elevate their sustainability practices. The official launch of the program saw the participation of senior leaders from 19 sustainability pioneers who committed not only to enhancing their own sustainability practices but also to catalyzing change within three other companies in Saudi Arabia.
At its core, the program seeks to cultivate a collaborative ecosystem and promote best practices to stimulate sustainable growth.

The 19 leading companies enrolled in the program include industry giants such as Saudi Aramco, Saudi Electricity Company, ACWA Power, SABIC, Ma’aden, Al Rajhi Bank, National Bank of Saudi Arabia, First Saudi Bank, Riyad Bank, STC, Mobily, Zain, Red Sea International, Roshan, National Housing Company, Almarai, Savola, Olayan Finance Company, and Al Sulaiman Group.
