Mars to Acquire Pringles Maker Kellanova
This marks Mars' largest acquisition to date, surpassing its $23 billion purchase of Wrigley in 2008.
Mars, the global chocolate and pet food group, has announced a $36 billion agreement to acquire Kellanova, the company behind Pringles and Pop-Tarts. This marks Mars' largest acquisition to date, surpassing its $23 billion purchase of Wrigley in 2008.[1]
The all-cash deal, which is subject to approval by Kellanova’s shareholders and regulators, will merge Mars’ popular brands like Twix, Bounty, and Milky Way with Kellanova’s Pringles, Special K, and Carr’s water biscuits.
Mars highlighted that the acquisition will expand its portfolio of health-oriented brands and enhance its presence in fast-growing markets, particularly in Africa and Latin America. Kellanova, with about 23,000 employees and $13 billion in annual sales across 180 international markets, will help Mars diversify its offerings with a broader range of snacks and healthier products.
