Thomson Reuters Acquires Safe Sign Technologies

Thomson Reuters has acquired Safe Sign Technologies, a UK-based startup specializing in legal-specific large language models (LLMs). This move is part of Thomson Reuters' strategy to enhance its AI offerings by integrating Safe Sign's advanced models with its trusted content and expertise.^[1]  

Joel Hron, Chief Technology Officer at Thomson Reuters, emphasized that the acquisition will accelerate the development of the CoCounsel AI Assistant, aimed at streamlining workflows across industries.

Safe Sign Technologies was founded in 2022 by Alexander Kardos-Nyheim.

The Safe Sign team will now work closely with Thomson Reuters Labs, reporting directly to Hron.
