Rio de Janeiro Hosts FII PRIORITY Summit
Brazil will host the United Nations Climate Conference in 2025.
Rio de Janeiro is hosting the FII PRIORITY Summit from June 11th to 13th for the first time, ahead of the G20 Leaders' Summit in November. Participating in the event are global leaders, government officials, investors, CEOs, entrepreneurs, and members of the FII Institute.[1]
About 150 speakers will share several issues, including effective climate change policy, BRICS countries, perspectives on sustainable development, the energy transition, start-ups, innovations, new technologies, investment tendencies worldwide, and fintech.
Apart from Saudi officials, the other top leaders earmarked to grace the summit are former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former Mexican president Felipe Calderon, ex-Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos, former Bolivian president Jorge Quiroga, former Costa Rica’s president Laura Chinchilla, and Argentina’s former president Alberto Fernández.
Brazilian Minister of Agriculture Carlos Fávaro and Minister of Mines and Energy Alexandre Silveira, along with Leandro Yamamoto, Executive Director of Mubadala Capital in Brazil, are also confirmed as speakers Mohamed Alabbar, the Founder and Chairman of EMAAR Properties and a Board of Trustees member of the FII Institute, emphasized to WAM that this event sheds light on Brazil's important role in global investment and sustainability. The event will be held in the Copacabana district, with the theme ‘Invest in Dignity. Brazil is the biggest South American economy and a large consumer with a population of over 210 million; it is the UAE’s second-largest trading partner in the American region.
Brazil will host the United Nations Climate Conference in 2025. The UAE hosted COP28 in 2023, while The oil-rich nation of Azerbaijan will host the 29th edition this year.
