Talent-on-Demand Platform Outsized Closes Series A Round
Outsized closed Series A round fund, led by South African VC Knife Capital.
Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East’s talent-on-demand platform Outsized closed its Series A funding round, led by South African VC firm Knife Capital, the company announced in a press release and emailed statement. In addition to Knife Capital, the round includes private investor and founder of global wealth management platform FNZ Group, Adrian Durham, as well as other private investors. This is the first investment from Knife Capital's $50mn third fund.
Outsized, which piloted in 2016, connects companies to a network of 25,000 vetted freelancers across Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East, and is currently integrating AI into its platform.
Market research and consulting company GrandView Research estimates that the freelance platform market was worth $4.39 bn in 2022, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.5% between 2023 and 2030. It forecasts that revenue for the market will reach $14.39 bn in 2030.
