Mohamed Abdelsalam has always been fascinated by how technology can be used to solve real-world problems and create opportunities — an interest that grew when he saw how tech solutions could help businesses optimize their operations. Now, as the CEO at Dubai-based Arcsen (formerly Coberg), he helps other businesses use tech to cut costs and optimize operational efficiency using tools like Salesforce, MuleSoft, and Tableau.

“Arcsen recently implemented an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven predictive analytics solution tailored for the retail sector, helping a large GCC client optimize inventory management,” Abdelsalam shares. “By leveraging Salesforce's Data Cloud, the project streamlined demand forecasting and improved supply chain efficiency. This resulted in a 15 percent reduction in overstock costs and a 25 percent improvement in inventory turnover within six months. The success showcases Arcsen's ability to innovate using advanced analytics tools for real-world challenges.”

And while Abdelsalam sees the measurable impact of these solutions daily, he sees even greater potential for technology to drive innovation in the future. “Arcsen envisions artificial intelligence (AI) and predictive analytics playing a central role in transforming customer experiences and operational efficiency across industries in the GCC. With increased adoption of tools like Salesforce's Marketing Cloud and Tableau, data-driven personalization will become a cornerstone of success.”

A Playbook For Success: Q&A With Mohamed Abdelsalam

Given the investment that GCC countries are putting into tech, what role do you think the region will play in this domain, globally, in the future?

“The GCC is positioning itself as a global leader in technology, and it’s exciting to see. With massive investments in areas like AI, renewable energy tech, and smart cities, the region is not just catching up — it’s setting benchmarks. Initiatives like the UAE’s focus on innovation and technology and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 are clear signals that they’re thinking big. In the future, I believe the GCC will be a hub for cutting-edge research and technology, a center for startups scaling globally, and a testbed for transformative technologies. The region’s focus on diversifying away from oil and embracing digital transformation puts it in a unique spot to influence global trends in tech and innovation.”

What’s your advice for people/businesses looking to start/grow in the GCC’s tech domain?

“For anyone entering the field, invest in constant learning — tech evolves fast. Build strong relationships and focus on clear communication; clients value someone who can bridge the gap between technology and business needs. Start with small wins to build credibility, and always keep an eye on the bigger picture.”
