As the daughter of Hussain Sajwani, founder of DAMAC Properties, one of the UAE’s real estate giants, Amira Sajwani was essentially born and bred in this industry, and her vision for the future of the sector blends her long years of experience in the family business with her keen interest in tech.

This can be seen in Sajwani’s professional profile, which sees her wear several hats – for starters, she is the managing director of sales and development and DAMAC Properties, she's also the co-founder and COO of the Dubai-based boutique ultra-luxury property development firm Amali Properties, and she's also the founder and CEO of PRYPCO, which describes itself as a one-stop proptech platform allows individuals to buy, sell, manage, and invest in Dubai’s real estate.

PRYPCO came about after Sajwani identified a significant opportunity in the market to centralize all real estate solutions on one platform. As such, her enterprise addresses several critical needs of buyers, including UAE Golden Visa services, mortgage solutions, fractional ownership (through an offering called PRYPCO Blocks), as well as exclusive property listings.

“The idea is to offer a seamless, all-in-one solution that simplifies the real estate journey for users, creating value through convenience, transparency, and innovation,” Sajwani declares. “Our interest in proptech stems from its transformative potential to reshape the real estate industry. What excites us most is how these technologies can democratize access to real estate investments and improve customer experiences. For instance, fractional ownership solutions are enabling individuals to co-own properties, a trend that is projected to grow at an impressive 50.9 percent compound annual growth rate by 2032, signaling the vast potential of innovative solutions like PRYPCO Blocks to make real estate more accessible for everyone, which is our vision.”

Sajwani is clearly dreaming big when it comes to the future of PRYPCO, and she also believes that the GCC is set to lead the evolution of the global proptech market. “The GCC region is poised to play a leading role in shaping the global technological landscape, particularly in proptech, thanks to significant investments and strategic initiatives across member states,” she points out. “Countries like the UAE and Saudi Arabia are spearheading advancements by integrating cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, cloud computing, and data analytics into critical sectors, including real estate. As the real estate sector continues to embrace these technologies, the GCC's commitment to diversification and digital transformation will not only enhance its local economies, but also make it a vital player in the global proptech landscape. This sets a precedent for innovation and sustainability in the broader tech and real estate sectors.”

A Playbook For Success: Amira Sajwani

What advice would you give to young people/new businesses looking to start/grow in your field/industry? Any specific advice you’d give women embarking on this field?

“My advice is simple: break through barriers and don’t be afraid to fail. Failure is often a steppingstone to success, and fear of it should never hold you back. This is especially true for women entering industries traditionally viewed as male-dominated, like real estate or technology.

Don’t let anyone tell you that women cannot thrive in these fields. The truth is, with determination and focus, whatever you set your mind to, you can achieve. Surround yourself with a network of supportive mentors and peers, believe in your capabilities, and remember that diversity of thought and perspective often drives innovation and success. Women are proving every day that they not only belong in this industry but that they can lead and excel in it.

The most important part? Start. Take that first step with confidence, and build from there. Every great success story begins with a leap of faith.”
