Microsoft has introduced Phi-3-mini, a small language artificial intelligence model tailored for cost-effective tasks. Designed to operate with smaller datasets, Phi-3-mini can be used in tasks such as content creation and social media post generation.[1]

Phi-3-mini surpasses larger models in its class across various benchmarks evaluating language comprehension, coding prowess, and mathematical abilities.

Phi-3-mini is set to be immediately accessible through platforms such as Microsoft's Azure AI model catalog, the machine learning model repository Hugging Face, and Ollama, a framework for local machine model deployment.

Earlier, tech giant Microsoft Corp. unveiled a $1.5 billion investment in the UAE-based AI firm G42 to elevate the UAE's status as an AI hub.

G42 is slated to migrate its suite of AI applications and services to Microsoft Azure to enable the delivery of AI solutions to a diverse array of global public sector clients and enterprises.
