The UAE Has Extended Its Deadline For Advertiser Permit Registration. Here's What Content Creators Need To Know.

The permit, which was introduced by the Council in July this year, is mandatory for anyone in the UAE who promotes products or services on social media, whether they are paid for the act or not.

The UAE Media Council has extended the deadline for content creators in the country to apply for an Advertiser Permit to January 31, 2026. 

The permit, which was introduced by the Council in July this year, is mandatory for anyone in the UAE who promotes products or services on social media, whether they are paid for the act or not.  

The permit is currently being issued free of charge for three years for UAE citizens and residents. Visitors can apply for a permit if they are registered under an advertising agency or talent management agency accredited by the Council.  

Applicants for the permit must be at least 18 years old, although the UAE Media Council may grant exceptions in special cases. They also must have a clean record with no past violations of media content regulations. 

Applicants must also obtain must obtain a trade license to practice electronic media from the relevant authority; this will require them to have a freelance or business license in the UAE as well.
