Apple Inc. will hold its major product launch event on September 10th to introduce new iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods, Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter. The products are expected to be available for purchase starting September 20th.[1]
The iPhone 16 will feature larger screens on the Pro models and new camera features, including a dedicated photo button. The new AirPods lineup will include updated entry-level models and mid-tier versions with noise cancellation. The Apple Watch Series 10 will be thinner with larger screens.
Apple is also preparing to transition its Macs to M4 processors later this year. Testing is underway on four new Mac models with different configurations of the M4 chip. Mac updates are typically announced about a month after the iPhone launch.
Last month, Bloomberg reported that Apple's upcoming artificial intelligence (AI) features will arrive later than anticipated and will miss the initial launch of upcoming iPhone and iPad software updates.
In June, Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 concluded with a series of product releases topped by Apple Intelligence, a new play in AI.
Apple Intelligence’s platform is expected to offer individualized and privacy-preserving functions, including contexts, notifications, writing and rewriting services, and image synthesis. Apple Intelligence should be able to execute multiple applications and leverage what cloud-based models provide while being secure about the users’ data.
Apple also partnered with OpenAI to enable Siri to access OpenAI’s ChatGPT in a major improvement, making suggestions or even generating content such as bedtime stories with images. This feature will be free for the users and will not require any account creation, thereby keeping the users' data private. Siri will also be enhanced in real-time statement correction as well as being more integrated with Apple operating systems.
