Here Is A Recap of Everything Apple Unveiled During WWDC
New updates will be available for developers to test starting Monday, have public betas next month, and be generally available by in the fall.
Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 just ended with a series of product releases topped by Apple Intelligence, a new play in Artificial Intelligence (AI). Apple also disclosed that it will incorporate OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which the user can opt-in to utilize with Siri.[1]
Apple Intelligence:
They included Apple Intelligence, which is an AI system for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. This platform is expected to offer individualized and privacy-preserving functions, including contexts, notifications, writing and rewriting services, and image synthesis. Apple Intelligence should be able to execute multiple applications and leverage what cloud-based models provide while being secure about the users’ data.
Siri Integration with ChatGPT:
Siri will be able to access OpenAI’s ChatGPT in a major improvement, making suggestions or even generating content such as bedtime stories with images. This feature will be free for the users and will not require any account creation, thereby keeping the users' data private. Siri will also be enhanced in real-time statement correction as well as being more integrated with Apple operating systems.
iOS 18:
iOS 18 brings various new features and enhancements, and all of them are attributed to personalization and privacy. Users can arrange their home screens with less restriction, benefit from a redesigned control center, and make use of new privacy features such as the ability to lock specific applications. It also increases the quality of messages, satellite messages, gaming experience, and photo search.
macOS Sequoia:
Sequoia, the new macOS release, will borrow several elements from both iPadOS and iOS. It also brings Passwords app Suggestions, enhanced AI in Safari, and new capabilities for video calls.
iPadOS 18:
The newly released iPadOS 18 introduced new interface changes like a floating shelf, a new calculator that supports math notes, and more refined SharePlay controls. Smart Script will be included for cleaning up handwriting and linking handwritten notes to typed text in Notes.
watchOS 11:
For the Apple Watch, watchOS 11 comes with a new inclusive training mode, a new customizable summary tab, as well as a new vitals tab for tracking your health. Other features include pregnancy-related tools, customizable activity rings, and AI-curated favorites for the watch face.
AirPods and tvOS Updates:
Apple also introduced new features for AirPods: head motion detection for call control and voice isolation. New features of tvOS are improved audio, support for projectors, and additional screensaver options.
VisionOS 2:
The recently released VisionOS 2 for Apple’s Vision Pro features machine learning-based photo adjustments, new hand movements, support for ultrawide displays, and broader travel mode compatibility.
New Passwords App:
Apple released the Passwords app for different devices that combined password creation and added security that resembled 1Password.
