Abu Dhabi-based global tech ecosystem Hub71 has partnered with the global tech giant Google to launch the Google for Startups Accelerator, a collaborative program aimed at accelerating AI-driven startups within Hub71+ AI, the ecosystem’s dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) vertical, to boost innovation in key high-impact industries from Abu Dhabi.

26 startups from the Hub71 community have been selected to join the first cohort of the customized three-month program. The startups will benefit from access to Google’s global network of mentors, engineers, and product experts, as well as receive Google Cloud credits.

High-performing participants may receive up to US$300,000 in credits (the program’s highest global support tier), and they could also qualify for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem tier credits to further enhance their technical capabilities.

In a statement, Ahmad Ali Alwan, Chief Executive Officer of Hub71, said, “Bringing the Google for Startups Accelerator to Abu Dhabi is a key milestone in advancing our position as a global centre for AI innovation. Together with Google, we are empowering founders to develop transformative technologies that address real-world challenges. Our ambition is for startups from Abu Dhabi to compete globally, lead with purpose, and create lasting impact.”

Doron Avni, Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Emerging Markets at Google, added, “Startups are at the forefront of solving critical challenges with AI, and our partnership with Hub71 is about equipping them with the resources to go further, faster. Through this accelerator, we are enabling Hub71 startups access to global expertise and infrastructure, so they can build AI solutions that make a real impact, both regionally and around the world.”

As part of the program, Google will also offer founders personalized playbooks, toolkits, and connections to its investment arms as well as the broader network of its parent company, Alphabet, unlocking further funding and commercial potential.

Startups already part of the Hub71 community have previously received up to AED500,000 (US$136,000)—split evenly between AED250,000 ($68,000) for in-kind services and AED250,000 ($68,000)—in funding via a simple agreement for future equity (SAFE) note—along with tailored mentorship.

The launch builds on a strategic agreement signed in late 2024 to introduce Google’s startup program to Abu Dhabi, aiming to enhance the digital infrastructure, attract leading talent, and promote cross-border collaboration in AI.
