Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture announced that bidding has officially commenced for the establishment of a Coffee City in Qalwah Governorate, Al-Baha Region.[1]

The proposed site for the city spans an impressive 5.55 million square meters, with plans to cultivate a minimum of 300,000 coffee trees.

Interested parties are invited to submit their bids through the Furas platform, with a deadline set for September 9th, 2024.

The ministry plans to review all submissions promptly on September 10th, 2024.

This initiative aims to significantly boost local coffee production as part of Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives, which aim to reduce dependence on oil, diversify its economy, and develop public service sectors.
