Photography and videography are key to powerful storytelling for both individuals and businesses; however, Habeeb Furqan, the entrepreneur behind UAE-based Kapturise, found that the traditional process to make use of it – which runs all the way from sourcing talent to managing and delivering content – was often fragmented and inefficient. “Kapturise was founded with the goal of leveraging technology to solve these challenges, starting with an on-demand platform that connects clients with vetted professionals seamlessly,” Furqan shares. “This evolved into developing innovative tools like our artificial intelligence (AI)-powered facial recognition image delivery system, which transforms the event photography experience by allowing attendees to access their photos in real-time with just a QR code.”

According to Furqan, Kapturise – which bills itself as the GCC’s largest on-demand content platform with over 1,000 creators on it – addresses the region’s demand for high-quality, on-demand content creation with its innovative AI-powered image distribution system. For instance, when the company’s offering was employed at this year’s annual Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards (DIAFA) in Dubai, the event’s attendees got instant, personalized access to photos via WhatsApp or download – a world apart from the delays often seen in traditional image deliveries. “What excites me about the future of this technology is its potential to push the boundaries of creativity and efficiency,” Furqan adds. “AI and automation are already revolutionizing how content is captured, edited, and delivered, enabling creators to focus more on the art and less on the logistics. For economies, this means opening up new opportunities for small businesses to compete globally, driving innovation in media and marketing, and supporting industries like e-commerce, tourism, and events with high-quality, easily accessible visual content. The possibilities for tech-driven growth in the content creation industry are limitless.”

A Playbook For Success: Q&A With Habeeb Furqan

Given the investment that GCC countries are putting into tech, what role do you think the region will play in the global landscape in the future?

“The GCC is positioned to become a global leader in technology, with a strong focus on leveraging tech to enhance industries like content creation, marketing, and media. Governments in the region are not just investing in technology, but also in the creative economy, recognizing the importance of high-quality content in areas like tourism, e-commerce, and global events.

The region’s commitment to innovation is evident in its ability to integrate emerging technologies into large-scale projects, such as Dubai’s drive to become a smart city, as well as Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. These efforts create an ecosystem where content creation and delivery can thrive, supported by advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and 5G connectivity

Globally, the GCC will play a key role in shaping the standards for tech-driven content creation. Its unique combination of resources, talent, and ambition will position it as a hub for creative industries, attracting businesses and professionals who want to work at the intersection of technology and storytelling. I believe this will have a ripple effect, inspiring other regions to adopt similar models for integrating technology and creativity.”

What advice would you give to young people/new businesses looking to start/grow in your field/industry?

“For those entering the content creation industry, my advice is grounded in the realities of what it takes to succeed in this fast-paced and highly competitive field.

Embrace technology early: In today’s market, staying ahead means leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and creativity. Whether it’s using AI-powered editing tools, automation for content delivery, or platforms like Kapturise that streamline bookings, adopting tech early can give you a significant edge.

Focus on storytelling: At the heart of content creation is the ability to tell compelling stories. While technology is an enabler, it’s the narrative that resonates with audiences. Invest time in understanding your client’s vision, and how your content can bring it to life.

Build strong client relationships: In the content industry, trust and collaboration are key. Delivering high-quality work consistently is essential, but so is listening to feedback and adapting to your client’s needs. A satisfied client often leads to repeat business and valuable referrals.

Be prepared to scale: As demand for content continues to grow, especially in sectors like e-commerce, events, and social media, scalability becomes crucial. Ensure that your processes – whether for project management, editing, or delivery – are optimized to handle larger volumes without compromising quality.

Stay adaptable: Trends in content creation change rapidly. From new social media platforms to evolving client preferences, being adaptable ensures you remain relevant. Continuous learning and experimenting with emerging tools and formats are key to staying ahead in the industry.

Community is key: Lastly, don’t underestimate the power of collaboration. Working with other creators, agencies, or platforms like Kapturise can help you access new markets and refine your craft. The content creation industry thrives on innovation and community – embrace both, and you’ll set yourself up for long-term success.”
