Vodafone Qatar Introduces 1st Instant SIM in the World
Customers can choose between a physical SIM or an eSIM without needing a credit or debit card for activation.
Vodafone Qatar has launched Instant SIM, a service that allows customers to activate a Prepaid or Postpaid connection without needing data or Wi-Fi. This technology, the first of its kind worldwide, enables users to complete the verification process, including plan selection and line activation, in seconds.[1]
Customers can choose between a physical SIM or an eSIM without needing a credit or debit card for activation. Instant SIM, powered by AI’s Electronically Know Your Customer (EKYC) feature, is available at over 2,600 locations across Qatar and can also be ordered through online platforms like Talabat mart and Snoomart.
To activate, users insert the Instant SIM into their smartphone, scan the QR code, and select their desired line type. Prepaid customers will need their passports, while Postpaid customers will need their QID for activation.
