"The most pressing challenge in the MENA is not access to artificial intelligence (AI); it is the ability to translate AI ambition into production-grade systems that governments and regulated industries can trust at national scale.”

With this statement, Presight CEO Thomas Pramotedham defines the core challenge his Abu Dhabi-based enterprise—a global leader in AI-powered big data analytics—is tackling in the MENA and beyond. “Across the region, institutions sit on vast volumes of fragmented data, but they often lack the governance, integration, and assurance layers needed to turn that data into real-time, decision-ready intelligence without compromising sovereignty, accountability, or public trust,” he explains. “In my experience, this is why many AI programs stall: the model is rarely the limiting factor, but everything around it is, because demos are easy while production means engineering, and high-quality, owned data and deployable governance are the real constraints.”

This, then, is why Pramotedham declares that Presight’s most important work is building the national-scale intelligence systems that make AI usable for the institutions that matter most. “The clearest example is the AI-powered Regulatory Intelligence Ecosystem unveiled at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos in January 2026, developed by the UAE Government in partnership with Presight,” he says. “It represents a shift from static, rule-based regulation to a living, data-driven model that applies AI to improve government effectiveness, enable proactive regulation, and support future-ready governance at national scale. In practical terms, this is AI being embedded into the regulatory lifecycle itself, so governments can monitor change, evaluate impact, and adapt policy with far greater speed and precision than traditional rulebook approaches allow.”
