Saudi Housing Minister Launches Sandbox Initiative For Municipal Solutions
Sandbox shall allow entities to test their products and operating models in a controlled, real-world environment supported by regulatory and legislative frameworks.
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Municipalities and Housing HE Majed Al-Hogail has launched Sandbox, an initiative aimed at supporting the testing of new solutions in municipal and housing services.
Sandbox shall allow entities to test their products and operating models in a controlled, real-world environment supported by regulatory and legislative frameworks. It aims to address challenges related to scaling solutions by offering a structured setting for testing, enabling validation, improving decision-making processes, and reducing operational and financial risks.
Sandbox has been based on an operating model that brings together entities from different fields to share expertise and develop data-driven solutions to improve service efficiency and support development processes. It is part of the KSA Ministry of Municipalities and Housing’s efforts to support the innovation ecosystem, contribute to the development of more efficient and sustainable urban infrastructure, and improve quality of life.
Through Sandbox, participating entities can develop their solutions from the early stages, with ongoing evaluation and refinement. This process is intended to support the implementation of readiness and alignment with sector needs. Interested applicants can join the initiative via this link.
