UAE Launches Dubai Unified License Initiative
Businesses can now utilize their unique DUL QR Code on their premises, websites, and social media accounts, replacing traditional trade license certificates.
Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has introduced the Dubai Unified License (DUL) to boost the business environment in the country, the state-run news agency WAM reported.[1]
In collaboration with the Dubai Free Zones Council, the DUL initiative brings forth a unified digital registry that consolidates economic establishments in Dubai and its Free Zones into a single, efficient platform.
This move aims to streamline various business processes, adhering to global practices and ensuring the consistent maintenance of up-to-date company records within the registry.
This streamlined process is especially appealing to international investors and entrepreneurs seeking a hassle-free business environment.
As part of the initiative, businesses will undergo thorough validation, verification, and screening by the appropriate authorities to receive their unique digital identity.
With over 50,000 licenses already issued by DET, plans are in place to issue more shortly, covering all registered companies in Dubai mainland and Free Zones.
The DUL offers access to verified DUL data housed in a digital repository, simplifying business verification processes in various interactions.
Moreover, the DUL provides verified information about existing businesses, proving advantageous for prospective owners seeking details about operating businesses in the emirate.
Looking ahead, the DUL aims to facilitate banks in opening accounts for Dubai-based companies with enhanced ease and efficiency.
Businesses can now utilize their unique DUL QR codes on their premises, websites, and social media accounts, replacing traditional trade license certificates.
This QR Code facilitates easy scanning for government entities, service providers, suppliers, and customers, allowing them to retrieve information about the company easily.
During the current phase, existing businesses and commercial establishments in Dubai, including those in free zones, will receive their unique DUL numbers and associated QR codes upon completion of the data update process.
The Dubai Business Registration and Licensing Corporation, under the DET, will oversee the operation, management, development, and supervision of the DUL system.
