The Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) has opened registrations for its One Million Prompters initiative, which aims to train one million individuals in artificial intelligence (AI) prompt engineering over the next three years.

Launched in May 2024 under the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dubai Future Foundation, the initiative supports Dubai’s efforts to strengthen AI adoption and develop specialized skills in the field. It aligns with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI, a framework to expand the use of AI technologies across various sectors.

The program offers a curriculum divided into four modules. The first, Unleashing the Power of AI, provides an introduction to AI, generative AI, and prompt literacy. The second, Commanding Conversations with AI Chatbots, focuses on techniques for enhancing interactions with AI. The third, AI-Powered Productivity Revolution, presents tools to improve workflows and productivity, while the final module, Creative Frontiers with Generative AI, examines AI’s applications in areas like art, music, and video production. Participants will receive certificates upon completing the training.

The initiative follows the success of the Global Prompt Engineering Championship held in Dubai in May 2024, which attracted participants from nearly 100 countries. Winners included Ajay Cyril from India in the coding category, Megan Fowkes from Austria in art, and Aditya Nair from India in literature. The next championship is scheduled for April 2025 during Dubai AI Week.

Commenting on the initiative, Saeed Al Falasi, director of DCAI, said, in a statement, "This initiative opens new avenues for individuals from diverse disciplines to drive AI adoption across technical, creative, and knowledge-driven sectors. By mastering AI prompt engineering, participants gain the tools to unlock groundbreaking applications and drive innovation from Dubai to the world."

"The initiative underscores Dubai’s commitment to becoming future-ready, fostering a new generation of AI specialists," he continued. "It plays a critical role in achieving the vision of Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ensuring seamless AI integration across industries that are shaping tomorrow’s world."
