UAE's Hala Expands to Egypt
Hala will launch in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital (NAC) and other cities.
Hala, Dubai’s e-hailing taxi service, has announced its expansion into the Egyptian market through a partnership with local smart transport solutions provider MwaslaTech. As part of the agreement, Hala will launch in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital (NAC) and other cities.[1]

Hala currently operates in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah within the UAE. The company reported a 20% annual growth in new user sign-ups during the first quarter (Q1) of 2024.
Founded in 2019 as a joint venture between Careem and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Hala will collaborate with government and private stakeholders in Egypt to address the transportation needs of Cairo’s commuters.

The market is expected to grow at an annual rate of 15.49% from 2024 to 2029, resulting in a market volume of $527.50 million by 2029.
