The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulatory body overseeing the emirate's healthcare sector, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Masdar City, an innovative sustainable urban community and premier business and technology hub, Xlife Sciences, a Swiss firm specializing in advancing and commercializing early-stage biotech and med-tech research projects, and Thermo Fisher Scientific, a global leader dedicated to empowering scientific advancements for a healthier, cleaner, and safer world.[1]
This collaborative agreement entails working closely with DoH, to foster and champion innovation within Abu Dhabi's healthcare sector. The focus will be on propelling clinical research and activities related to clinical trials, as well as establishing an ecosystem that nurtures life science start-ups in the emirate.
The MoU enables innovators to test and refine their solutions through comprehensive incubation processes, facilitating the delivery of market-ready offerings.
Additionally, the partners will collaborate on advancing research and establishing project groups that contribute to evidence generation, ultimately enhancing the quality of clinical trials conducted in Abu Dhabi.
